68: Portable Bar

Type 68 California Liquor License: Portable Bar

A portable bar license allows the holder of an on-sale licensee to have a bar that is moved about the premises for the sale of distilled spirits.  A portable bar license is not required if you are only selling beer and wine.

If a venue is using multiple portable bars at the same time, they may require more than one license.  For instance, if a banquet room is being furnished with 3 portable bars all in the same room, only one portable bar license is required.  However, if a portable bar is being set up outside the room as well as inside, then each bar must have its own license.

It is important that you remain in compliance with the terms of your liquor license so please contact us directly if you have questions concerning a Type 68 license.  The cost of a portable bar license ranges from $292 to $627 (depending on the population of the city where the license is located) and it is a great way for a restaurant, bar, or hotel to increase their revenues.
